The Cowan Christmas Parade, a cherished tradition in Franklin County for the past six decades, is set to kick off the holiday season once again this year. Scheduled for December 7 at 1 p.m., this year marks the 60th edition of the beloved event.
The official theme for the 2024 parade is “Christmas Memories,” inviting participants and spectators alike to reflect on the joy and nostalgia of the holiday season.
Prize Money and Awards
Participants will have the chance to compete for over $2,000 in prize money. Awards include:
$1,000 for first place overall
$500 for second place
$200 for third place
$100 for the best tractor entry
$100 for the best automobile entry
$100 for the best equestrian entry
Parade Details
The parade will be staged and lined up at South Middle School and Davis Street. The official route will commence at the former Cookie's Market, now known as Paw-Paw's Country Cookin’, wind through the town and conclude at Cowan Elementary School.
The Christmas in Cowan Committee and the City of Cowan invite everyone to join in the festivities and celebrate the spirit of the season.
