A portion of 1st Ave N at W Main St was closed for several hours on Wednesday following an incident involving a truck hauling salt that overturned. Emergency crews, including the Decherd Police, responded to the scene early Wednesday morning to find the truck on its side, with salt spilled across the roadway.
City maintenance workers worked diligently throughout the day to clear the salt and reopen the streets. By late afternoon, the road was cleared and traffic was able to resume as normal.
