Rebels Remain Winless After Homecoming Defeat

In a challenging homecoming game, the Franklin County Rebels experienced a tough loss against the Lincoln County Falcons with a final score of 49-6. This defeat marked the seventh loss of the season for the Rebels, who struggled to keep up with the dominant performance of the Falcons.

The game started with the Falcons taking control early on, scoring on their first six offensive drives and establishing a commanding lead that proved too much for the Rebels to overcome. The Falcons' relentless offense set the tone for the match, leaving the Rebels trailing throughout.

Game Highlights:

  • The Falcons scored a 15-yard touchdown run on a 69-yard opening drive, quickly taking a 7-0 lead.

  • Continuing their momentum, the Falcons extended their lead to 14-0 with a 64-yard touchdown run.

  • With a 79-yard touchdown pass, the Falcons made it a 21-0 game in the first quarter.

  • By halftime, the Falcons had surged to a 42-0 lead, capitalizing on interceptions by the Rebels.

  • The Rebels managed a touchdown in the third quarter, but the Falcons responded with another strong drive, widening the gap to 49-6.

Despite individual efforts from players like Dawson Sowers, the Rebels were unable to turn the tide in their favor. The team's record now stands at 0-7 for the season, with a 0-3 regional play record.

Upcoming:

The Rebels will look to bounce back in their next game scheduled for October 18 at Columbia Central High School, kicking off at 7 p.m.
