
Franklin County’s baseball team couldn’t keep up with Lincoln County’s explosive offense, falling 9-4 in a tough matchup.
Lincoln County’s bats came alive in the third inning, putting up five runs and never looking back. They collected 13 hits on the day and capitalized on Franklin County’s two errors. Despite an early lead for the Rebels — scoring two runs in the first inning — their offense couldn’t maintain the pressure, managing just seven hits over the game.
G Gardner was a bright spot for Franklin County, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, and two RBIs. S Vincent also had a solid day at the plate with two hits and a run scored. C Gilliam contributed with an RBI double, but the Rebels’ lineup struggled with strikeouts, racking up 14 on the day.
Lincoln County’s steady offense chipped away, adding insurance runs in the later innings, and their pitching kept Franklin County’s hitters off balance.
Lincoln County’s lead was too much for the Rebels to overcome. Franklin County will look to bounce back in their next matchup as they work to tighten up their defense and find more consistency at the plate. Rebels will next take on East Limestone AL on Monday.
