The Franklin County Rebelette volleyball team faced a tough defeat against the Lawrence County Lady Wildcats in a quarterfinal match of the District 9AAA tournament. The Rebelettes, seeded seventh, were unable to secure a win against the second-seeded Lady Wildcats, resulting in their elimination from the tournament and the end of their season.
In the first set, the Lady Wildcats took a commanding lead by scoring 17 of the first 18 points, ultimately winning the set 25-10 over the Rebelettes. The second set saw the Rebelettes trailing throughout, with the Lady Wildcats finishing strong with a 10-4 run to secure a 25-15 victory, putting the Rebelettes at a 2-0 disadvantage.
Despite their efforts to keep up with the Lady Wildcats in the third set, the Rebelettes fell short as the Lady Wildcats surged ahead towards the end, claiming a 25-17 victory in the set and winning the match.
