WILLIAM LEE "Wild Bill" Hodges, Sr., age 74, of Decherd, Tenn., departed this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at STRHS Winchester following a brief illness. Mr. Hodges was born in Jackson, Michigan to the late Willie Lee Hodges and Dollie Mae Anderson Hodges on November 1, 1950. During his employment years Mr. Hodges was employed as a Budding, Tracing and digging worker at many different nursery's in Tennessee and other states. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing horse shoes and archery during his life time. In his younger days he was known as "Wild Bill" and his late wife was called "Calamity Jane. He lived up to his nickname "Wild Bill".
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, C.J. Steel Hodges, brother, Alton Douglas Hodges and son, Jason Hodges. He is survived by his son, William Lee Hodges, Jr. of Alabama, daughter, Billie Jo Craig of Georgia, sister, Patty Morris of Winchester, brothers, Charles Hodges and wife, Rita of Belvidere, Timmie Hodges and wife, Patricia of Cowan, and Floyd Palmer of Hixson, Tenn. Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service will be held at a later date.
