Thomas Jerry Smithey Sr. of Winchester, Tennessee passed from this life on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Vanderbilt Harton hospital in Tullahoma, Tennessee at the age of 83 years.
A native of Marie, Arkansas, he is the son of the late Thomas Marshall and Fannie Smithey. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Geraldine Vance Smithey in 2013, siblings, Shirley Marie Smithey, Edith Marie Smithey, Lorine Jacobs, Odell Reynolds, Lucy Flemmings, Helen Jones, Clois Smithey, And Barbara Tobin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Burial will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester, Tennessee. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
Mr. Smithey was a hard worker and loved working on lawnmowers and cars. He loved our mama and our family. He also enjoyed wrestling. He was of the Pentecostal faith, and he truly loved the Lord.
His survivors include his wife, June Smithey of Winchester, Tennessee, children, Jerry Smithey Jr. of Avondale Estates, Georgia, Jeff (Danyeal) Smithey of Concord, Georgia, Gena (Tony) Alonso of Decherd, Tennessee, Janet (Tim) Owens of Lynchburg, Tennessee, brothers, D. W. Smithey, Billy Dean Smithey, sisters, Merle Stegall and Lois Jean Jones, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
