JAMES "JIM" ALLEN MCBEE, age 86, of Sherwood, Tenn., departed this life on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tenn., following an extended illness. Mr. McBee was born in Sherwood on December 14, 1938, to the late John Hubert McBee and Etta Glisson McBee. Mr. McBee was employed the longest as a Laborer at different sawmills in Franklin County. He had many hobbies in life he enjoyed which included, Singing, hunting, fishing, playing corn-hoe, his favorite food was fried chicken, and his favorite team was the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He liked to make people laugh and was known for his story telling abilities about things that happened to his family years ago. He could often be seen visiting his family and friends on his 4-wheeler as he would often make his daily rounds. Mr. McBee enjoyed life to the fullest and always made sure his mother was taken care of. He will be missed by his family and his many friends in Sherwood.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward, Bennie, John, Geraldine, Robert and Tommy McBee.
A Visitation with family and friends is tentatively scheduled (depending on the weather) for Monday January 13, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.
