Election Day is here after a hard-fought campaign between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Most news agencies say the election of a new president could come down to seven states battleground states that will largely decide who wins the race: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The latest poll shows the race in a dead heat. Voter turnout around the nation is expected to be the largest in history. The record was set in 2020 when over 155 million ballots were cast between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Over 83 million ballots have already been cast during the weeks of early voting, 2.2 million of which were cast in Tennessee. Voters in Voters can cast ballots for President, US Senate, US Representative (Congress), State Senate, Tennessee House of Representatives, County Commissioner District 7 Seat A, and County Commissioner District 1 Seat A. Those living in the Franklin County area of Monteagle will cast ballots for city alderman. Franklin County has 18 precincts.
In Tennessee, it’s easy to vote and hard to cheat. Thanks to the election laws passed by the General Assembly and administered by the 95 County Election Commissions, Tennessee is ranked number one in the nation for election integrity by The Heritage Foundation.
Franklin County showed up in a big way, with over 11,000 early votes cast.
