The Lady Champions secured their victory by scoring the sole goal of the match during the first half, leaving the Lady Hornets unable to mount a comeback and settling for the regional runners-up title for the second year in a row.
Amanda Tipps, the head soccer coach of Huntland, commended the team's overall performance in the game, highlighting that a single mistake proved to be the deciding factor. Despite the loss, Tipps expressed her unwavering belief in her players, especially the seasoned upperclassmen, urging them to bounce back swiftly as they prepare for the upcoming sub-state game scheduled for Saturday.
Cascade seized the lead with a well-executed corner kick that resulted in a goal late in the first half, putting Huntland at a 1-0 disadvantage going into halftime. Despite launching several attacks on Cascade's goal in the second half and coming close to scoring, the Lady Hornets were unable to find the back of the net.
