Garry Curtiss German, age 77, of Estill Springs, Tenn., departed this life suddenly at his residence on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Mr. German was born in Athens, Tenn., to Estie Akins German and the late Roscoe H. German on April 1, 1947. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Mr. German was retired from his employment with the Government in Atlanta, Georgia. After his retirement he relocated to Estill Springs. He enjoyed reading and watching his favorite Westerns on T.V. He was a quiet man that kept to himself and will be greatly missed by his family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, James German and sister, Clara Reed.
He is survived by his sisters; Joan Tankersley of Estill Springs, Sharon Bowen and husband, Danny of Park Forest, Ill. Several nieces and nephews.
His wishes were that he be laid to rest at a National Cemetery. His interment is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn. on December 11, 2024. There are no other services scheduled at this time.
