On October 22, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. the Decherd Police Department and the Decherd Fire Department responded to Decherd Blvd in the area of CVS regarding a wreck with injuries.
Sergeant Robert Hammond, Patrolman Dalton Henderson, and Chief Kenneth Griffin arrived on the scene and began assessing the crash.
The driver of the 2016 Ford Taurus had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Decherd Fire Department. Once the driver was extricated, he was treated by Priority Ambulance Service on the scene of the crash and then transported to the Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the 2016 Nissan Rogue, Devin Bohanan was involved in a crash at the intersection of Bypass Rd and Dinah Shore Blvd and fled the scene and began traveling north toward the Decherd City Limits at a high rate of speed, striking a vehicle leaving Duck River Electric. Bohanan was transported to the Southern Tennessee Regional Health System for his injuries.
Upon further investigation, the Decherd Police Department arrested Bohanan for Vehicular Homicide, DUI 2nd Offense, and Driving while License Revoked 1st Offense.
The Winchester Police Department also has pending charges against Mr. Bohanan for the crash at Dinah Shore Blvd and Bypass Rd.
