Busy Saturday for the Franklin County Sheriff's Department

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office had a busy Saturday. They started the morning with a Car Seat Check Event in the Walmart parking lot. During the event, deputies were requested to check nine car seats. During those checks, they found three car seats were correctly installed without adjustments. Six car seats needed to be reinstalled for varying reasons and were done by our certified Child Safety Seat Deputy. We were also approached by one person wanting a new car seat installed for future use.

Simultaneously with the Car Seat Check, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office collected toys for the “Cram the Cruiser” toy drive. The amount of community support that turned out for the toy drive was beyond amazing, and they were able to successfully cram the cruiser from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. For this, the department would like to say, “Thank you, Franklin County truly!”

With the assistance of the Tullahoma Police Dept., they closed out the evening with a Sobriety Checkpoint on Hwy 130 (Old Tullahoma Rd.) in front of Northlake Elementary School. The checkpoint ran from 9 pm to 11 pm. During the checkpoint, we had contact with eighty-two vehicles, and twenty verbal warnings were issued for various infractions. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted on two individuals, and zero arrests were made.
