Franchise Group, or FRG, owns and operates popular brands such as Pet Supplies Plus, The Vitamin Shoppe, Buddy's Home Furnishings, and American Freight.
On Sunday, the company announced its restructuring plan via a voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
American Freight is one of many furniture chains experiencing hardship as the industry grapples with similar challenges. Recently, Backcock Home Furnishings closed all its stores nationwide. They operated locations in Winchester and Tullahoma.
